I used the Paisley High Street branch of Santander this morning. I needed to deposit a cheque and transfer money between accounts. I distrust telephone and internet banking. So I was there in person. There was a long queue to get in (maybe the previous day’s bank holiday was the cause of this). I have underlying health issues and was shocked to see that a customer was in the queue in front of me without wearing a face mask. Before I hear the excuse that this might have been because if HIS health issues it should be noted he had a mask hanging from his ears which manifestly didn’t cover either his nose or mouth... despite there being someone supervising the door nobody intervened to ensure this individual complied with the regulations. The staff at the counter were efficient and helpful. However, the bank should be doing much more to protect its more vulnerable customers
