Shopped at Ormskirk store Friday 19/2/21 pm . Having waited at checkout over 15 minutes I eventually paid for my shopping and presented my blue light discount card . The check out assistant informed me that a card is no longer acceptable and demanded I show her the app .I explained that I am currently awaiting a security code to enable me to download the app. She then proceeded to interrogate me about my NHS role to the point where I felt obliged to divulge my profession , she then looked incredulous and proceeded to question me further . Eventually completed the transaction and WARNED me in no uncertain terms that the card would not be acceptable after the end of this month. So in actual fact she herself clarified valid use of the card .A very embarrassing experience in front of a substantial queue of people . Totally unnecessary. All she needed to do was inform me that as from March , I would need to use the app .
